November Kasukabe

On Saturday in Kasukabe we had visitors from the Saitama club. The kids had an energetic class with a lot of throwing techniques. 

Even the blue belts ukemi is coming along when they are practicing by themselves, but now it is time to start putting these breakfalls to use within techniques. Today we did ikkajonage, shomen iriminage, and finished with some jiyuwaza

For the adults it was all about shomen uchi sankajo osae ni. Although ranked as a 5th kyu technique, without a doubt one of the more complicated waza amongst them all.

A long technique with a variety of complicated moves. However, each movement has its purpose and must be done correctly to smoothly connect to the following movement to not break the flow of the technique as a whole.

Kasukabe 10/16

Fall is the time of school sports festivals, making for lonely weekend training.

Last Saturday at Kasukabe only 4 students attended, 2 of which were visitors from the Noda club.

All 4 were testing so it worked out well. No distractions, full concentration. 

Following the kids, we had a smaller than usual adults class as well. 

A couple members out with injuries and the rest attending the above stated school sports festival.

Following one 6-8th kyu test, we went over the differences and similarities in the basic grips and locks of aikido.

8/14 Kasukabe

Although all the other Meiryukan clubs are off for Obon holidays, the Kasukabe club was up and going. 

Due to the holiday, more than half the Kasukabe members were absent. However, visitors from Kumagaya, Saitama, Nagareyama, and Noda showed up.

Some new belts for some new students at Meiryukan Kasukabe. These little guys have only been with us a few months, but have been training hard. Kamae, seiza-ho, shikko-ho, zenpo kaiten, koho kaiten ukemi, tai no henko ichi, tai no henko ni... Keep up the good work!

This Saturday, August 14th only Meiryukan Kasukabe will hold training as usual. Visitors welcome!

 

夏の審査

 暑い日が続いてます。熱中症にならないように、稽古前には必ず水分補給をしましょう！！

春日部同好会の夏の審査が7/17(土)・7/22(木)の2回に分かれて行われました。

今回初めての審査の方も3名いましたが、皆さんとても頑張りましたね。

失敗してうまくできなかった人もいると思いますが、ジム先生の講評をよく受け止め、次回の審査につなげていってください。

Kasukabe 5/15

The kids junior class working hard at Saturday`s Meiryukan Kasukabe club.

We warmed up with a bunch of ukemi, then into some basics. 

The blue belts have just about memorized the kihon dosa renzoku. Now it is time to fine tune the movements.

Todays`s technique was katate mochi sokumen iriminage 2

The positioning of the feet, low stance and entering movement all play a big part in getting this yellow belt technique right.

For most of them it was their first shot at this waza and they nailed it! Great concentration today.

春日部同好会春の審査

3/20(土)・3/25(木)春日部同好会の春の審査が行われました。

20日は幼少年部は9～10級2名、7級2名、4級1名の5名が受験。一般部は9～10級1名、6～8級1名、4級2名の4名が受験しました。

そして25日は少年部9～10級2名、7級2名、4級2名が受験。

みなさん練習の成果を発揮できたでしょうか？審査結果は春日部同好会全員合格！！おめでとうございます。
